In 2011 we did a major remodel of our home that was built in 1977.  We lived in the basement during the remodel.  This had all the makings of a a reality show on HGTV!  A remodel of this magnitude can be highly invasive and stressful.  We had heard the horror stories, but decided to press on. James, our project manager, assured us we would have the project done in three months.

Mentally I prepared for it to take twice as long and cost twice as much as the budget allowed. As we proceeded through the project James remained the stable force.  He was very organized, and has a great relationship with all his subcontractors.  His sense of humor and genuine concern for my family and our project was amazing.  He kept the project moving at a constant speed.  All subcontractors showed up and did their job well, keeping us on schedule.

James was an expert at really listening to our needs and wants.  He made our vision a reality.  We always felt like he genuinely wanted our house to be what we wanted, not what he thought it should be. James was on sight everyday, throughout the day and accompanied me on most of my trips to choose interior finishes.  James was always mindful of our budget, although remodeling an older house did present unexpected added expenses and delays.

With James's guidance and professionalism we completed our remodel in four months, due to an unexpected early blizzard, and while we were over our budget, due to unexpected Boulder County demands and a few design changes on-the-fly, we were VERY pleased wit hour remodel experience.  Because of James we had a smooth, efficient, positive experience.  We would highly recommend James for any construction project be it new construction or a remodel.

Lynn and Bob Ahern,

Mr. Hopperstand was the designer and construction co-manager of my home, built in 2007. The design of the house occurred in 2006. Permitting was accomplished in January 2007. The construction period was January to mid-December of 2007. The house is 8800 square feet and is of brick and stucco. Prior to the beginning of the project, both a budget and a schedule were established.

In spite of weather delays, the house was finished before the deadline and in a most timely manner. The final costs for construction were within the projected budget. Mr. Hopperstad’s attention to detail was valuable; he made suggestions and offered ideas that were greatly appreciated which added to the beauty and functionality of the home.

Both my wife (Dr. Cecelia Lange) and I would highly recommend Mr. Hopperstad.

Jerald D. Lange,

James was recommended to us by our real estate agent. Lots of experience, as both architect and contractor. We could not have done better.

We wanted to downsize to a ranch and started from scratch for a design. James guided us along and kept everything on track. He is a great listener and very good at incorporating your thoughts into the design. Very helpful with all the decisions and choices involved.

James is a very hands on builder, constantly showing up on site to make sure the subs understand and complete the work as intended. He is also very frugal with your funds, looking elsewhere when the subs seem out of line.

We ended up with a great design, very well built with attention to detail. Could not have been happier with James throughout the process. Feels like home and that is really what it is all about.

Great job James! We are very happy!

Barbara and Ray Miller, Homeowner

James is much more than a meticulous custom builder. James has an artistic eye that helped me wade through the spectrum of color combinations with each room in my home.

I also trusted him in staying within my budgeted guidelines without compromising a unique custom-feel home.
